Waxjam is a music event with a difference. As part of a series of
fundraising events in aid of Oxfam, Waxjam is a musical waxing
extravaganza!
As an Oxfam initiative and in conjunction with Oxjam (the UKs largest
music festival), Waxjam combines local music and entertainment with
charity waxing.
Combining the talent of musicians such as Marques Toliver (whose
music is a melodic mix of violins, guitar, autoharp and song http://www.myspace.com/marquestoliver) Juanita Euka (a powerful and passionate
singer in both Spanish, English and French) and Ade Kunle Salami
(acoustic guitar), they provide a sumptuous and delightful Sunday
afternoons entertainment.
At 3pm there will be an auction of various prizes donated by local
businesses (e.g. Hoxton Hotel stay) along with a services exchange,
giving local businesses the chance to gain complimentary referrals.
People and businesses alike will also have the chance to take
part in and nominate their friends and colleagues to take part in a
sponsored leg wax, and even have their face painted at the same time!
There will be a prize draw at the end of the day where people will
have the chance to win 2xtickets to the main Oxjam Brick Lane Music
Takeover Event in October. People will be asked to make a voluntary
donation of £5 on the door, with all proceeds going to Oxfam.
